Communication

In order to engage potential customers in a business to business environment it’s necessary to have steps that they can take to tell you whether they appreciate or want more of what you have to offer.

Since this site is intended to demonstrate some of the principles, we have included a feedback survey which is based on the work of Avinash Kaushik, a long time Google Analytics evangelist which simply seeks to gauge the success of the site by asking whether people found what they wanted on the site.

It also seeks to demonstrate how information can be captured for re-use and retargeting. This is discussed in more detail in pages reserved for course partipants and alumni.

How communication is improved by content.

Another way of tracking engagement is by offering content valuable to the audience you are trying to engage with. Request details can be processed via an opt-in system such as Mailchimp which allows you to make the information available as required.

One of the things that’s important for SEO is to have some internal links that track the progress of individuals around the site.  This means that you are setting up funnels to route people interested in what you say to the right place.

You can then track your success in obtaining downloads as events or as goals using Google analytics. This is one of the key techniques we will be discussing in this course.
